Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 11month old son is an early walker Which means a lot of falls over the past 3 months. He does not yet have any teeth on top The other day he fell onto a toy (mouth open) and tore his incisive papilla-it bled A LOT, now it is dangling. I spoke to a pediatrician and an ENT who both felt that nothing could be done and we'd just have to wait for it to heal (have not seen any doctors in person, because both made it sound as though there wasn't anything they'd be able to do) I am concerned about the long term effects. Could this potentially cause dental problems in the future? I can't find ANYTHING about torn incisive papilla on the Internet-I feel like my kid is the only one it's ever happened to! Talk about a freak accident!
