My 4 Year Old Was Diagnosed This Afternoon With An

My 4 year old was diagnosed this afternoon with an ear infection and given augmenton. A few hours later her right eardrum burst. We called the pediatrician and were told to just be careful not to get water in her ear and use a warm washcloth compress for discomfort. She has had multiple ear infections, (over 6 this past year). I'm planning on taking her to an ent after a week, this will be our second visit. The first one they said she didn't meet the threshold. I have three questions. When should I become concerned if the draining is still active? she is not good at articulating her pain levels. When do I consider a more aggressive treatment such as ear tubes? Are there any other less aggressive treatments available?
