Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 44 yeR old son worked hard from age 17 almost 2 yeArs ago he quit his job and sold his personal and household belongings for money. He was living in my house. I still had a mortgage. So, I sold my house and he was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of schizophrenia. Today hestats in bed all day. When he does come downstairs in the evening he seems perfectly normal while watching TV with me. He does not use good personal hygiene. It is a struggle to convince him to take a shower or brush his teeth. His father and myself made sure he was taken to dentist and doctor appointments regularly. So his current behavior is difficult for me to understand and frustrating. He says things like his heart isn't beating (even though doctors and nurses say it is - stethoscope). He walks very slowly and his eyes are open wide. This later condition began after his first treatment. He says it's because the doctor prescribed Halidol. He is very knowleable about many subjects. Therefore, he answers many Jepordy questions. I want him to think he has a future. He still is a young man.
