My 5 1/2 yr old son will NOT have a BM on the potty. He is afraid of it and that it'll hurt. He holds it in while he's sitting on the toilet. He goes #1 just fine and usually doesn't poop in his pants but does have some streaks while he's trying to hold it in throughout the day. He still wears a pull up at night because he doesn't stay dry. In the early morning, he will poop in his pull up while he's still partially asleep or as he just awakes so I can't catch him. We've given him miralax to help with the ease of going but all that does is makes more messes in his underwear throughout the day. He needs something to give him the urge to go so he can't "hold it in". Reassuring him that it won't hurt and having him sit for long periods of time does nothing. Please help.
