My 5 Years Old Daughter Usually Complains Of Feeling Pukey Towards Bedtime Or In The Morning

Hi, lately my five-year-old daughter frequently complains about feeling sick and as though she needs to throw up. However, her temperature is always normal, she eats well (and a wide variety of foods) and is of slim build and active physically. She usually complains of feeling pukey towards bedtime or in the morning. Is this common among children this age, and is it likely to be physical or psychological?

My daughter has the same issue. Super sudden, then it seems to pass. She was given Prevacid dissolving tablets to take at night and she is doing much better.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Feeling nauseated at bed time or in the early morning might either be due to anxiety or due to acid peptic disorder. You can give her a good emotional support and sleep with her for a day or two and see if she improves. Giving an over the counter antacid like tums might also help her.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
