My 68-yr-old Wife, Type 1 Diabetic For 51 Years And

My 68-yr-old wife, type 1 diabetic for 51 years and with a neurogenic bladder, has had a TERRIBLE problem (beginning March 2016) with fecal incontinence since taking the generic Tamsulosin. When she was in rehab and long-term care following a hospital stay (Aug-Dec 2016) , she was given Flomax in place of the (generic) Tamsulosin, and the fecal incontinence disappeared within four weeks. She returned home December 2016, went back to the (generic) Tamsulosin, and within a couple weeks the fecal incontinence returned. So she stopped (with concurrence from urologist) the Tamsulosin on January 1, 2017, but the fecal incontinence continues. We are of the belief that, given sufficient time for the Tamsulosin to leave her system, the incontinence will subside. If that occurs, is it possible for the generic Tamsulosin to cause the incontinence when the Flomax did not? Or, was the Flomax in reality a placebo? In addition, how long might it take for the Tamsulosin to leave her system?
