My 7 Year Old Child Is Continuously Coughing ( Bronchitis)

My 7 year old child is continuously coughing ( bronchitis) from the last one week and doctor has prescribed bactoclave and ventryl syrup. Since there is not much rellief, can I give omnicortil inplace of ventryl or any other cough syrup you suggest. Regards
