My 8 Year Old Daughter Had Her Tonsils And Adenoids

My 8 year old daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed 8 days ago. The day after she developed a fever and began coughing. We took her to the ER 2 days post-op because she wouldn't drink enough and she was dehydrated. They gave her IV fluids and said the cough and fever were normal post-op. Now it's 8 days later and she is still coughing all day long. I took her in to her pediatrician who said her lungs are clear. She's still in a lot of pain and barely eating. Is this really normal to be coughing all the time this long after surgery? It's causing her chest pain and for her to panic, saying she feels like she can't breathe.
