Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 81 year old mum has recently been in hospital for a fall in her home she got treated for a UTI infection and she had some physio to help her walk. She was discharged from hospital after about nearly a month. Mum was only home about i week when she took unwell again and was readmitted to hospital this time she was treated for a sepsis infection and released after about a week. She is now home but still finds it hard to walk her balance is poor and on top of this she says her hands feel sticky like they have chewing gum on them and she finds it hard to hold anything like a cup or glass . I have noticed that her hands are getting worse more claw like . I was wondering if there was anything i could do to help her. I mentioned it to the physio that came out to see her and he gave her some exercises to do .Its just that before her fall her hands were ok and she could walk unaided .
