My 87 Y/o Mother Is Visiting From CA. She's Been

My 87 y/o mother is visiting from CA. She's been on Torsemide 10 mg every am. She has recently lost weight, down to 112, had been 130, but not sure how long ago. Has been c/o occasional dizziness when standing, feeling more unsteady, & more "foggy". BP was running 110-114/50-58. Has partial occlusion to both carotid arteries, though not enough to warrant endarterectomy. She said cardiologist wants her systolic to run 140s-150s. I decreased her dose to 5 mg, but her BP rose to 160s-170s/70s- low 80s. So I started giving her 5mg am & 5 mg pm. Her BP has since been 140s-150s/60s & she is steadier, no dizziness, & less "foggy". She does have a history of HTN, CAD, & had 2 stents placed > 10 years ago. She's also on aldactone 25 mg every am. I've read that Torsemide is typically given once/ day, so I'm not sure if I did the right thing, even though it has seemed to work so far. She returns to CA soon & will be seeing her cardiologist. Should I continue with the 5 mg 2x/day until then, do you think? Thank you.
