Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 87yr old father lives in Canada and had a pacemaker put in, within the last 3 years. He has just been diagnosed, with a brain tumor. It is not clear if the tumor is malignant or or not. He was told he could not get an MRI due to the pacemaker, and will instead be getting a more invasive biopsy, which he has to wait 2 weeks for. With all advancement in technologies are there MRI-conditional pacemakers and special procedures that will allow for and MRI with a pacemaker?
