My 90 year old father suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his rt. leg today as a result of burning leaves. His pant leg caught on fire. He was seen in his primary physician's office and given an antibiotic, tetanus shot, cream to apply twice a day and instructions for dressing changes. Besides signs of infection, what other complications should we be monitoring for? ? fluid loss, dehydration, shock? edema of that leg?
Thank you.
