Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 94 year old mother in law has severe back pain at L3 and L4. Steroid shots to the area no longer bring relief. TRamadol no longer helps either. She had oxycodone for only a week and it helped for aabout4 hours. She has had a duragesic patch but it gives minimal relief and they are considering a stronger one. Would she be a candidate for radiooblation therapy. Her pain doctor said she is not a candidate for surgery at her age. A x-ray from 2016 said she had Osteophytosis, anterolisthesis and spondyloarthritic changes and degenerative changes of the spine. If she is a candidate is there anywhere near Hannibal Missouri or Quincy Illinois that you could refer us to for the procedure. YYYY@YYYY
