Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Dad is 70 years old (with a rod down his left leg from breaking his hip in Oct. 2013 and he bit of a fracture of the right knee from falling 10'off a dump trailer- just fyi).. well, yesterday he was sitting in the bow of a ski boat facing the back and the driver was towing a water-skier at 35mph when the boat hits cross chop straight on with no slowing down.. my Dad didn't see it coming and was launched 6' into the air, as he came back down the bow of the boat seat was coming up and he landed hard on his bottom, the pain was so bad that he instantly passed out for about 10 seconds.. he came too and had to lay there for about 5 minutes feeling as if he couldn't move.. he ended up being able to get up after about 10 minutes.. and was sore last night but could walk around. Today he has bruising on his lower back above his butt crack, can you please tell me what we should be aware of regarding injury and how we can help him get better from it? he is taking advil and has no tingling in his hands or legs.. he can walk. I'm just very concerned about it and was hoping you could shine some light on any possible things we should know? Please help me feel better about this as I'm worried.. their still at the lake and he plans on seeing a doctor when he gets back at the VA.
