My Mum Aged 92 Developed Sepsis Very Quickly This Week
My Mum aged 92 Developed sepsis very quickly this week in the nursing home. She had a sore that was not healing on her arm. Rushed to emergency and was treated and family called in to say goodbye. She was confused , saying stupid things and wanting to pull out all the tubes in her body. given many things like antibiotics and drips and gradually improved in ICU over a few days. Sent back to nursing home and now is so weak (though she is only 50kg anyway) and will not take food offered to her by staff or my family. I sit their daily with her trying to even get her to drink water or a cup of tea. She is talking ok now but has no records of what has happened during the past 11 days. Do you feel she will improve or just slowly pass from this world. Her Doctor has requested my sister( who is coming tonight from her holidays) and I to come in on Wed afternoon and sign a Health Directive for the nursing home. Apart from this she has been very healthy but is in care as she cannot walk due to her legs and knees giving away about four years ago. We wish to know what you would think will happen please Susan eldest daughter. YYYY@YYYY We are in Australia in WA. Thankyou
We have no reports or images as they stayed at the Hospital and the Doctor has the discharge report at his surgery I guess.
