My R rotator cuff is torn out for the 4th time. My orthopedic surgeon (Dr. Philip Jacobs) with the San Antonio Orthopedic Group did another MRI and stated that he could not surgically fix it again. I need a complete shoulder replacement (which only lasts 10 years) therefore - I was too young. I just turned 65. Also, Dr. Philip Jacobs left his practice with the orthopedic group and went to University hospital in a different capacity. He wanted to see me in 1 month but I canceled; my thought process was "well, if he can't fix, he can't fix it!" It's gotten so painful I really can't take it. My pain management specialists stated that I must get a second opinion for this situation - he will only prescribe 4 Norco daily and 1 Hyslinga. I'm completely immune to these meds. Plus, I have degenerative arthritis in both hands (fingers), two have been fused and about 4 more need to be fused. I'm completely miserable. This is deteriorating daily. Can't lift right arm. Would more meds do any good at this time? I need surgery but can't seem to get it. Help!? Any advice would be appreciated. Ardeth Guerra - dob 09/03/1951
