My Adult Daughter Is Having Pain In Her Lower Left

My adult daughter is having pain in her lower left side with nausea. She's been diagnosed with a fatty liver that is nearly double in size and elevated liver enzymes. She also has a high white blood cell count. The Drs have only suggested a diet change and excersize. My question is why is she having this pain and throwing up?
