My adult son has an old insect bite which was on his ear, and the swelling, redness and soreness has recurred at different times over the past 2 years or more. He has been on antibiotics, prednisone and other meds for his COPD several times since he was bitten. the swelling and redness occurs on the same ear that was bitten. He uses various topical applications such as alcohol or boil ease to try to draw out the infection. Any other recommendations?
