My case(I am Male 35 Age)
1. Aug 28 2015, Due to lot off stress and long hours(14-16 hours last few days before the panic attack) at work for 20 straight days no weekends. There was continuous pain and heavy head on left side of head around temple area. I did consume ibuprofen time to time. All this resulted into a kind of panic attack having left jaw pain and numbness in left face.
2. Visited PCP, He mentioned it could be neck muscle spasm and prescribed muscle relaxing medication. I took some day off. Numbness seems to easy when I did physical work and comes back when I do office/ cognitive/ Thinking work.
3. After couple of weeks with numbness was very little, but still during office working hours head pressure and pain builds up throughout the day I used to take ibuprofen on busy days to easy out the pressure and pain on left side of the head.
4. Around November, 2015, I reduced ibuprofen to reduce dependency on meds. But due constant pressure on left side. My left eye became watery and swollen.
5. Around January, 2016, I saw a flash in left eye and started seeing floaters. So I went to ophthalmologist (eye doctor). He mentioned I have hole in retina which has healed and Retina looks week on the top. When I mentioned about head pressure and pain in left head and temple area. Ophthalmologist said there is no correlation between head ache and retina weakening. I never had eye problem before no glasses etc.
6. Starting June 2016, I started seeing Neurologist, He did Neurological test , which all came normal. Prescribed general anxiety disorder medication escitalopram for six month to see if that help.
7. Currently I am on escitalopram for about 4 month, I feel its not GAD. What I have noticed is whenever I do critical thinking/ try to solve problem for long time. Pressure starts building left head around temple area and behind the eye. Ibuprofen/ workout / sleeping helps in reducing the pressure and pain.
