Was wondering I have 3 girls. The 2 oldest are 5 and 3. I ve noticed some differences with them over the last few months. They have been drinking non stop. They pee a lot. My 3 year old is alway hungy and never notice any weight gain . Same as my 5 yrd old. They are active for kids but noticed they are always hungry even after they eat or have a snack. Cud it be possible signs of diabetes?
hello,
welcome to healthcare magic,
if you have a family history of diabetes then yes they could be chances your children could be suffering from diabetes because of the symptoms expressed.
you could get a blood sugar test done to rule it out.
another thing is they could be having a high metabolic rate so whatever they eat gets used up easily thats way they have to eat frequently.
third issue could be the weather. they could become dehydrated due to the hot weather.
hope to have answered your query
take care.
I am unsure if this is diabetes. It usually is the case that there is also lots of drinking fluids in the terms of water, etc, as well as urinating a lot in cases of diabetes. If there are signs such as these please consult a doctor. However what I think is that you child is in a growth curve where his body needs all the nutrients that it can get to grow. I would wait for some more time and observe before taking him to a pediatrician.
I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
