Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter had an insect bite on her foot. She went to the school nurse who thought it was a spider bite. I took her to the pediatrician who put her on an antibiotic (Bactrim). After taking the antibiotic, she began having stomach cramps and diarrhea. She also had muscle aches and a horrible headache. The bite area has healed a little bit, but she has 2 small white bumps near it. She woke up this morning with one eye swollen almost completely shut. I took her to a walk in clinic (about 6 hours ago), and the doctor said she had a staph infection. They gave her a shot of Rocefrin. she is still having severe stomach cramps, and her eye is still swollen. She also has a little bit of swelling just above her eye. Could this actually be MRSA?
