Dear Concern, Yes, any swelling of a localized lymph node denote either generalized or localized infection in body tissue/organ. Or any other infection sitting within the closest vicinity of such swelling. In your case it is likely that there could be some infective foci sitting somewhere in the oral cavity (left side Tonsilitis) or in the left auditory canal (left ear). High lymphocyte count accounts for the same. I hope the mother of the child is doing well without any history of recent past infection (rule out Tuberculosis).
