My Daughter Has Swollen Lymph Nodes Behind Left Ear
7 month old daughter has swollen lymph nodes behind left ear My 7 month old daughter has Swollen lymph nodes behind left ear less than 1 cm Since birth ,yesterday cbc( high lymphocytes (8)and normal A platelet count. (Flu Shot )3 days before test. the doctor said Swollen lymph node behind ear usually occurs as a response to any kind of localized or generalized infection of body
Yes, any swelling of a localized lymph node denote either generalized or localized infection in body tissue/organ. Or any other infection sitting within the closest vicinity of such swelling. In your case it is likely that there could be some infective foci sitting somewhere in the oral cavity (left side Tonsilitis) or in the left auditory canal (left ear). High lymphocyte count accounts for the same. I hope the mother of the child is doing well without any history of recent past infection (rule out Tuberculosis). Otherwise, the child should be kept under regular check-ups by a Pediatrician with some more investigations to rule out any pathological condition. Thanks.
