My Daughter In Law Has Been Having The Following Symptoms

My daughter in law has been having the following symptoms for over a year and they have steadily increased. She is an OR nurse who has now lost her job. She fell at work and wrenched her knee a year ago. She was put on light duty and then her hands began to have pain. She can no longer grasp without excruciating pain and the muscles in her lower arms and hands are atrophying. She has been to a myriad of doctors including neurologists, rheumatologists, Primary care, naturopaths and others. She continues to lose function and the MRI's have not detected anything. They want to get a referral to MAYO Clinic and Mayo told them that "some people will just always have pain". This was after having some of her health history for less than 24 hours and never seeing her. My kids are so stressed and so scared and do not know where to turn
