My Daughter Is Five And Has Been Complaining Of Stomach

My daughter is five and has been complaining of stomach aches approximately 1-3 times a week for about a year. She had no other symptoms. I took her to the doctor and they basically had no explanation. Last week she started complaining of chest pain and was having frequent foul belches. She was prescribed Zantac BID. Today she looks really pale and has little energy. Do I need to push for them to check for an ulcer?? I asked them to at her doctors appointment but they said to try the medicine first.
