My Daughter Weighs 12.1kg And 2.11years Old. Has Very High

My daughter weighs 12.1kg and 2.11years old. Has very high fever for the last 3days. Temperature recorded between 101.5 to 102.7 degrees F. Doctor has advised the usage of Calpol 250 3.5ml every 6 hours and if the fever does not reduce, has asked to give Meftal P suspension syrup 6ml. The fever does not reduce with Calpol and spikes to very high temperature and I am forced to Meftal and then the temperature reduces. I am worried because the fever increases every 6 hours and I am wondering if there may be an overdose as today is the 3rd day. My doctor suggests that I wait one more day to run a blood test and continue medication. Please tell me if I this is normal?
