My Doctor Advised Me To Take Ova-mit. Why Should I Take This?
hi, i have been told by my OBGYN doctor to take ova-mit on day period 3-7 before he is going to help me to check my fallopian tube test by flushing method on day 8. But i have normal ovulation as shown in my blood test report. Why should i take this ova-mit??
Your concern is rational. If there is ovulation then there is no indication for Ova mit which is used to induce ovulation. However please go ahead with the tubal patency test. I am not sure about the timing of the tube test. You are to take ovamit for day 3-7 and then have a tubal patency. It means it will be done after day 7. It is advised to do this test on day 4-5 of periods or the day bleeding stops, as the cervix is open so it is easier to do the test as well as there is no chance of accidentally disturbing a pregnancy[ which may occur if done in the fertile period from day 8 onwards].
So please discuss both the issues with your doctor and then choose the drug and tests. Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM. Feel free to ask any more questions that you may have. Dr Madhuri Bagde Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist
