My Father, 90 Was Fit And In Overall Very Good

My father, 90 was fit and in overall very good health until recently. He now apparently has glomerulonephritis. We are worried about kidney failure & death. I do not think he had a strep infection, but he had pneumonia last spring, and it was undiagnosed for a while...so it serms to be post-pneumoniccocal. He is very very weak, has edema in his legs. Can you make any pharmaceutical OR dietary recommendations to pursue? Seems dialysis or kidney transplant not viable options at 90.
