My Father Is Diagnosed With Chronic Kidney Disease. He Is

My father is diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. He is diabetic and hypertensive from last twelve years.his creatinine level is between4 -5. Urea level is 97. Doctors said to restrict water intake to one to one half litres per day. His urine output is around 800 ml per day.we are restricting protein levels to 0.8g per kg per day.doctors have started renolog tablet 3days back; but i want to know is it benificial? We are planning for transplant but it will take some time to convince my family members to donate one kidney who are compatible...so till then shall i Keep him on dialysis? If yes then what type either hemodialysis or peritonial dialysis... Also his hemoglobin level is 9.5but iron stores are normal but mcv is deranged so shall i start erythropoetin?
