My Father Who Is 70 Has Had Over The Last

My father who is 70 has had over the last two days constant swelling of the lips and cheeks, very alarming amount of swelling. He went to A&E where they gave him Pirriton and sterroids. It seemed to reduce but not disappear completely. On the 2nd day his top lip became very swollen so he went to A&E. My father has had two heart attacks, a triple heart bypass and has heart failure, he also has cop. Over the last month he has had a chest infection and had xrays which he says his lungs where clear. Could this be sepsis?
Thanks
