My Father's Creatine Level Is 1.7. Is It Too High?

hi....my father is 61 yrs old and he is a heart patient....from last 6 months suddenly his creatine level in blood has gone to 1.7 and doctor advised him to take low protein food , salt and given few tablet....is this range is too high or any severe complication willl occur?

Hello. More useful that serum creatinine value is your creatinine clearance. Moreover is your father diabetic, hypertensive or suffering from any other systemic illness which may affect the kidney function. The serum urea level in respect to the creatinine and kidney size on ultrasound abdomen also will be able to prognosticate the raised renal parameters
