My Fiancée Was Recently Diagnosed With High Blood Pressure. He

My fiancée was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure. He was started on amlodipine-benazepril and HCTZ, as well as an 81 mcg aspirin. Tuesday, because he was still running high and feeling awful, his provider started him on Bystolic 10mg. Today he started having a pain in his right "side". Started out as a pain in his back, at the bottom of his shoulder blade, but says it goes clear throught his to the front of his chest. He's had two EKGs as well as his troponin levels checked, all with good results. He's thinking the Bystolic is causing his pain and wants to stop taking it. I say it's not a wise idea, but he isn't dealing well with the pain. Would you consider it a side effect of the Bystolic?
