My Friend Believes He Could Have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. He

My friend believes he could have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. He complains of severe leg pains which interfere with sleep, pain in rib cage area, inability to find a comfortable position to sleep. He has a previous history of blood clots in his legs following knee surgery. He has been trying to get an MRI scheduled, scheduling requires him to come in and set an appointment & then return at another date. His mobility is compromised by the pain in legs, which makes him unable to drive. what should he do to start with? He states the pain in legs feels the same as when he had blood clots .
