My Friend Called Me And Ask Me What My Interpretation

My friend called me and ask me what my interpretation of her script direction was. It is for a anti-inflammatory drug, I did not ask the name of it, but it said to take 3 at first then 1 every 4 hours. She wanted to know if she should take 3 and then a few hours later start on the 1 at a time. I told her I thought she should take the three today and then start the others tomorrow. Too late here to call Dr. or drug store to ask. Can you help? She had a root canal done today. Thank you. She says she doesn't know how to look up this on internet or she would be asking.
