My Granddaughter Is 21 Months Old. She Had Pneumonia Back
My granddaughter is 21 months old. She had pneumonia back in September and was admitted to hospital due to dehydration and was unresponsive to initial antibiotic treatment at home. She again on New Years Day returned to ED with congestion, fever, rash on her bottom (spreading up her trunk and down her legs) and sores on her tongue. Chest x-Ray revealed fluid in both lungs. She was given a steroid to reduce inflammation in her mouth and throat and was observed for 4 hours and tolerated some fluids. Doctor said the rash wasn't a yeast infection but was a result of the viral pneumonia. She was released and hasn't slept much and refuses food or liquids and expresses pain. She is crying and at times inconsolable. However, the rash seems a little better. What to do? Online research doesn't speak to any bodily rash associated with viral pneumonia...
