My grandson has two growths on the bottom of his feet. We think they are warts. He has been wearing socks all the time and when he took one off it pulled part of the growth off. It appeared to be very painful and had a redish (bloodlike) center with the growth around it and then quite a bit of swelling around that. He is 9 yrs and knew he should have told us, but didn't. Do we take him to a doctor? a podiatrist? Will they try to remove these growths? I think it would be so painful for him.

I am very sorry for taking your time. My daughter just called...they took him to his pediatrician who confirmed they are plantars warts and are sending him to a podiatrist. I guess I have my answers for now! Thank you for being there.
