My Home Pregnancy Test Is Positive But By Doctor It Is Negative. How It Is Possible?

i had my period last month on december 5th and it ends on december 11th and now its january 11th could i be pregnant? i had took test and two came out positive then i went to the doctor and got a blood test and it was negitive so what is going on?

As u told there is a one month period of amenorrhea( u have not period), u done the tests for pregnancy - that is urine pregnancy test by using pregna test kit. As this test is based on the hCG hormone in urine, it is most sensitive test but not specific. Specific test to confirm pregnancy is USG scan...

Actually, if the urine tests are positive, then the blood test (for beta hCG) should have been positive as well. Since it is still the first week of your missed period, you could wait another week and repeat the urine test, say on 18th Jan morning. Use a fresh kit preferrably another brand. If thats negative, then all is well. If its positive again then your gyanecologist would prefer a repeat blood test and a sonogram. Most of the worries would be over if pregnancy complications are ruled out.
