My Husband Aged 90 Died In Hospital Attributed To Aspiration

My husband aged 90 died in hospital attributed to Aspiration Pneumonia, OGD procedure, Ischaemic heart disease last August, I am only just having the inquest on March 17th. on the 5th August he was " treated with morphine for symptom control and died on 6th August at 9.15 hrs " and yet I am told the exact timing of the patients death was uncertain. This must mean that he was alone at the time. I feel that he would not have been left in pain but is it possible to say whether he was awake and aware of his forthcoming end , I am so sad that I was not there to comfort him , I feel there is no compassion in nursing these days, he was such a kind gentle man.
