My Husband Had Been On Metforman For 2 Years ,

My husband had been on metforman for 2 years , he felt bad the first day he took it , i could smell an odor on his breath like sweet medicine, we just thought it was the meds so i asked the doctors about that and they would change the dose , it never went away , my husband hasent felt good since he was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 , we 1 week ago he started feeling worse and has lost so much weight, he normal weight is 175, he is now maybe 110 smaller than me we Sunday we went to emergency room to find out he has type 1 diabetes he should never been on metformin foe 2yrs he has had ketosis it almost killed him , the emergency room Dr said that he has type 1 and he is taking shots , what am I to do about this I am very angry that the Drs.' were not listening to us
