My Husband Had Had Shoulder Surgery On The Left Arm

My husband had had shoulder surgery on the left arm for torn tendons 15 or so years ago. Now, he is experiencing shoulder pain in the scapula and along top of the shoulder in the same arm/ The pain is most severe at night and wakes him from sleep with stabbing pain in the scapula. Could this be an impingement syndrome problem. We are icing, using laser treatment and some heat as well as resting the arm .
Thank you Dr. Rynne and your help. He doesn't see his GP until January 6th. I'm trying to find a safe treatment until he sees our GP. Sincerely, Shannon Ashby
