My Husband Had His Left Knee Replacement In May 2015

My husband had his left knee replacement in May 2015 and the right one done in August 2015. He is still experiencing a lot of pain but is worried about addiction. Tylenol doesn't seem to help much so I am wondering if there is another non narcotic pain reliever that may help. He had a bleeding ulcer 4 years ago. Thank you for any information you can give me.
