My Husband Has Been Seeing An Ophthalmologist For Over A

My husband has been seeing an ophthalmologist for over a year to treat glaucoma & has had surgery in an attempt to improve the condition. Surgery did not help & in fact, the problem has gotten more troublesome. Dr. has him on eye meds to reduce pressure. His biggest complaint at this time is his eye constantly feels like there is sand in it & he has small white particle discharge. Dr diagnosed this as severe dry eye syndrome & gave him an ointment that irritated it further. He is now using Genteal for severe dry eye. This is also useless. Can you provide suggestions or advice to help alleviate his constant eye misery?
