Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is 53 yo, is 5 ft 10 1/2 inches and weighs 180 lbs, he is very active and in excellent health. He takes no mess and exercises regularly. He fell today hard on his right hip and multiple scrapes/road rash to elbow and lower leg while mountain biking on an aggressive trail. He had this fall this am, took a shower and continues his day without any pain or difficulty walking. 5 hours later her noticed significant swelling to his right hip the size of a half grapefruit. Only discovering it when he thought he had padded, riding shorts in which he did not. He has no problem or pain with walking or weight bearing but pressure/stiffness due to the immense swelling. He is a PT and wanted to find out if this a hematoma to the hip bursa or hip muscles and hopefully not broken? Does he need to get an X Ray?
