Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is 60 years old. Diagnosed last a year ago with Heart failure. He only has one artery to his heart left that is not completely blocked. No surgery due to nothing to hook a bypass to and it would be too dangerous for any stents to be placed in the artery that is at least 82 percent blocked. He has had at least 2 major heart attacks prior to last years diagnosis. The drs. at the VA say he is a walking miracle. He does have many collateral arteries that have grown that send oxygen to his heart (I think that is what they do) Tonight for the first time his right foot is swollen badly. He has not injured it although he does have a bad scratch on his leg that is red but not red streaks. Should he go to the dr? I don't know if this is serious or not. He takes lots of medicine (12 pills in the morning) 6 at night. They are heart meds, blood pressure, etc... Thank you
