My Husband Suffers From Asbestosis. Recently He Spent A Week

My husband suffers from asbestosis. Recently he spent a week at his brother's house which was very dusty due to neglect and the back yard was covered in pigeon poop and feathers which I believe may be coming into the house through the vents. He had more trouble than usual breathing and even after being home for two weeks still is out of breath way more than he used to be. Could that environment have caused his lungs additional damage or could he have caught some kind of disease or infection from it?
