My Husband Takes Valsartan 320 Mg; Amlodipine 10 Mg; Doxazosin

My husband takes Valsartan 320 mg; amlodipine 10 mg; Doxazosin 4 mg for high blood pressure - and his readings have been 150/ 50 average with low pulse readings in the 40', now the dr has added Isosorbide Mononitrate 30 mg. Is this drug normally prescribed for high blood pressure adding to the current medication regiment?
