hello,
avoid food with high glycemic index like sugar, white rice, banana, potatoes etc, give a good high fiber low carbohydrate diet. Do a regular fbs and ppbs with hba1c every 3 months. Avoid sweets and carbonated drinks. Use sugar free after consulting a physician on the kind of artificial swe I would advise you to consult a dietician in this regard. I hope i have answered your query. Take care
He'll.Welcome to HCM forum. If you just take care of 3 W's you can keep your sugar in check. These are White flour,White rice and White sugar(Refined carbohydrates).Just don't take them.Go for regular walks.Keep your BP <120/80 mm of HG and LDLcholesterol < 80. IF you just follow what I told you ,you will lead a controlled and comfortable life. Thanks and good luck.
Dear Mr.Rajagopalan,
From your brief history,it appears that you mother is u/t for diabetes but is not having control over her diet,Diabetes without strict diet control will lead to complications like heart and chronic kidney disease which we term nephropathy.Kindly get her lipid and renal profiles done and get back to me so that I can suggest you proper diet and treatment.
