My Mother-in-law, 89, Attempted Suicide Last Thursday. She Took All

My mother-in-law, 89, attempted suicide last Thursday. She took all the medications sent home with her from the ECF which were: Tramadol 58 pills, Percocet 5 - 70 pills and Xeralto 10mg - 8 pills. She crushed them and we assume she put them in liquid and then took them because with the exception of a few pill fragments on the floor there were no pills. When her son found her she was barely breathing and was rushed to the hospital. She was in a coma from when found until the next morning. Tylenol levels in her blood at time of admit was 192.3, then 214 then 171 by the next morning. Narcan was given to counteract the tylenol. She awakened the next morning but continued to drift in and out. As of Thursday evening her nurse stated that her labs were not bad the only elevated labs were the Tylenol level and her BUN was slightly increased. LFT and kidney function showed WNL lab results. She is expected to make a full recovery. How can this be? After taking two major narcotics that you really shouldn't take together much less OD on, how is she still living? My question is this: being a nurse , could she have taken only a few of each then got rid of the rest? This whole scenario is not adding up for me especially with how dangerous Tramadol is crushed. Does this sound right? The mother-in-law is 4'10" and possibly 140-150 lbs. I am an RN also but this doesn't make sense to me.
