My Mother-in-law Has A Hx Of Double Bipass Surgery, And
My mother-in-law has a hx of double bipass surgery, and few stents. She is 81 years old and is now in a tertiary hospital with an 80% blockage of 2 arteries. I was not there today to hear what or where exactly the blockage was. I was told by family that it included the "widow maker" . She has 2 options, open heart surgery or stenting. They told her that if they stented it would be more complicated because they would have to go up both legs. She really does not want the open heart surgery. What is the survival rate of this type of stent surgery?
