My Mother Recently Had The Tips Procedure Done And Is

My mother recently had the tips procedure done and is now being prescribed Xifaxan. We had a couple of days in-between filling her prescriptions where she did not take it and she seemed to be thinking more clearly and acting more normal than she is when she is taking the Xifaxan. My question is, can the Xifaxan be causing her not the think clearly and make her unable to function like she was when she was not taking it for a couple off days? We want to not give it to her for a couple of days again and see what the difference will be. Are there any serious risks by doing this? She had the tips procedure done because of her cirrhosis of the liver. Any useful information would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
