My Newborn Grandson Had Open Heart Surgery For Shone's Complex

My newborn grandson had open heart surgery for Shone's complex last week. He had three of four defects. It is one week post surgery and he is still unable to get the vent out after breathing trials. The cardiologist is doing an echo tomorrow to determine if scar tissue is forming on the right side of the heart near one of the surgical sights. How would scar tissue be removed if that is happening? I hate to see a four week old baby who has already gone through so much have to have his chest opened again. Is this a laproscopic type procedure?
